we are GRF Dynamic Engineering dealing with Stainless steel dimpel jacket pressure vessel with capacity range 1000L to 20kl
1000l tofor SS dimple-jacket vertical pressure vessels from 1 KL (1,000 L) up to 20 KL (20,000 L) so you and your fabricator can quickly pick a suitable size and see typical dimensions, jacket area and rough material weight. These are approximate — final design must follow the chosen code (eg. ASME VIII Div 1 / local code) and exact design pressure/temperature.
Quick assumptions usedVertical cylindrical shell with integral/dished heads.L/D (straight length / diameter) chosen ≈ 1.5 (common compact layout).Shell thickness for weight estimate: 6 mm (typical for low–medium pressure).Jacket (dimple plate) thickness: 2 mm (dimple plate).Material: SS (density 8000 kg/m³).Heads area estimated by a practical factor (not a detailed head-by-head calc).
These numbers are for preliminary selection only.> Notes: “Rough material mass” above = shell + jacket plate only (heads + shell + jacket). No allowance for internal fittings, agitator, insulation, supports, nozzle reinforcement, manhole, piping, surface finish, or internal components.
Typical design choices / recommendations
Material: SS304 or SS316L depending on corrosion / product compatibility.
Design code: ASME VIII Div 1 (or local equivalent). Specify required
stamping/certification.Design pressure (shell): specify (e.g. 0.5, 1.0, 3.0, 6.0 bar g). Shell thickness will be code-calculated from that.Jacket pressure rating: commonly 3–6 bar for steam/service; for high-pressure steam specify accordingly.Jacket type: dimple plate (spot-welded) — good heat transfer vs. lower weight.
Insulation & cladding: usually PUF + SS304 cladding for hot service.Agitator: specify if mixing required (type, RPM, shaft penetration).Nozzles & typical sizes:Product inlet/outlet: DN50–DN150 depending flow.Jacket inlet/outlet: DN25–DN65 (depends on heat duty).Drain: DN25–DN50.Vent / safety / instrumentation connections per process needs.Manhole: DN400–DN600 typical for cleaning/CIP access (if required).Support: skirt, legs or saddles depending on height and piping.Surface finish: Ra requirements if for pharma/food.Heat transfer / steam sizing (brief)Jacket area shown gives conductor area available for heat transfer. Exact steam flow (kg/hr) depends on:
Required temperature rise (ΔT), product properties, required heating time, and overall heat-transfer coefficient. As an example, to estimate steam kg/hr you’ll need: mass of product × Cp × ΔT / latent heat of steam, adjusted for U × area efficiency. I can run a quick steam sizing for any chosen capacity & ΔT if you want — tell me desired start/end temperatures and heating time and I’ll calculate.
What I can do next (pick any, I’ll do it now)
1. Run detailed thickness calculations (ASME formula) and produce a GA sketch + weight & nozzle list for a specific capacity and design pressure/temperature.
2. Do steam/glycol heat duty & steam kg/hr sizing for a chosen capacity (give start temp, final temp, heating time).
3. Prepare a procurement spec/techno-commercial template you can send to fabricators (materials, tests, painting, docs).
